You sure have been gone a long, long time

Your face is all wizened and pointed,

Your eyes are all bloodstained and red

I thought I might speak with the Great Man
I went up and offered him a beer
He gave me 10 bucks and he grabbed at my nuts
I never knew Elvis was queer
He leaned right across on my shoulder,
Offered some words of abuse
I know I should have acted much colder, but Hell -
With Elvis how could I refuse?

And it was obviously Elvis
As soon as he started to speak
Up in his room it was obviously Elvis
Though he must have been far from his peak
He kind of attempted to suck me
As I lay confused on the bed
And then as he started to fuck me
Well I almost wished Elvis was dead

Harmonica break again for: C, D, G, G7
Other instruments stay C, D, G, G7
this time C, D, G ->Em
C, D, G, G7

C, D, G ->Em

Bass drum comes in during last verse
He gave out a moan of approval (pause while someone moans)
I shivered in sickness and pain
He spluttered and coughed as he eased himself off
I wondered at his lack of shame
He rumbled across to the bathroom
I thought about what I'd just done
I can say that I've been poled by the King of Rock'n'Roll
But I'm still just a fag on the run

And it was obviously Elvis
As he just sat there on the john
Well obviously Elvis
Was happy to die on his own
So I took all the cash from his pockets
And brushed back the hair on his head
As his eyes stared at me from their sockets

I knew this time that Elvis was dead

Harmonica solo accompanied by: C, D, G, G7
C, D, G, G7
C, D, G ->Em
